Spanning 5,672 acres, the ranch provides an unparalleled hunting experience for outdoor enthusiasts. Our expansive property is a haven for elk and bear, offering the perfect backdrop for thrilling hunts. We tailor our hunting services to both archery and rifle seasons, ensuring every hunter has the opportunity to pursue game in a way that aligns with their skills and preferences. We only take a few hunters for each hunt so you will never see another hunter while hunting with us. From navigating diverse terrains to encountering abundant wildlife, each hunt is expertly guided to maximize success while preserving the natural beauty and balance of the land. Our guides are experienced elk hunters with long standing familiarity with our ranch; we do not use “freelance” guides. We utilize the Double A Ranch horses in the elk recovery process and depending on where you kill your elk, it may be packed out the “old way” on our excellent pack horses.

Elk

We focus on preserving the land's natural resources by forgoing livestock, ensuring that elk have optimal grazing areas. Our elk hunts cater to both archery and rifle enthusiasts.

Archery elk season runs from September 2-30 and features five 5-day hunts, boasting an impressive success rate of about 65%. For rifle hunters, we align with Colorado’s four rifle seasons, including dates in October and November. Success rates for rifle hunts average 75%, but for hunters in good shape who can shoot well, the success rate is about 90%. It will never be 100% because if the outcome was certain, it would not be hunting.

Bear

Our ranch is a prime destination for bear hunting, offering hunters an incredible opportunity if they choose to pursue a wily black bear as part of their elk hunt.

Our property includes a thriving bear population. In fact, our bow hunters harvested an impressive seven bears this past season, showcasing the exceptional opportunities available on the ranch. Bear hunting is included at no extra charge as part of our elk hunts, making it a unique and valuable addition to your experience.
